TO MEET THIS STANDARD THE COLLEGE MUST ENSURE
- Our College makes a public commitment to child safety.
- A child safe culture is championed and modelled at all levels of the college.
- Our Board facilitate implementation of the child safety and wellbeing policy.
- Our Child Safety Code of Conduct provides guidelines for staff and volunteers on expected behavioural standards and responsibilities.
- Our risk management strategies focus on preventing, identifying and mitigating risks to students.
- Staff and volunteers understand their obligations on information sharing and recordkeeping.
HOW IS THE COLLEGE IMPLEMENTING THIS STANDARD
- Our commitment to Child Safety can be found on our website
- Child Safety is a standing agenda item at Board and Sub-Committee meetings
- Child Safety is a standing agenda item on Leadership Team meetings
- Child Safety risks are included in our College risk register
- Our Staff and Volunteer induction program supports understanding of Child Safety reporting obligations and behavioural expectations
- All staff acknowledge and sign their understanding of the Child Safety Code of Conduct on an annual basis
- Child Safety Committee, comprised of students and staff, meet once a term to develop a child safe culture
- Complaints Form is promoted and accessible for all members of the community so that all people can have a voice if they feel unsafe in the community
